Arline Catherine Rogers ALBANY - Arline Catherine Rogers, 93, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at the Teresian House in Albany. Arline was born in Albany to George and Mabel Desmond and lived in Hudson for over 70 years. A graduate of Germantown High School, she was a long term employee at Key Bank in Greenport. Arline was a communicant of St Mary’s Parish in Hudson and was a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was an active participant with the Home Bureau of Columbia County. A wonderful homemaker, she was an accomplished baker and seamstress. During her retirement years she spent many winters in Hobe Sound, Fla., where she enjoyed line dancing, pool exercise classes, potluck dinner parties, and performing in clubhouse musical shows. and loved the time spent there with family and friends. Her greatest joy was her family, and as the oldest sibling she was the beloved matriarch of the extended Desmond Rogers family. Arline was predeceased in 1988 by her beloved husband of 47 years, William E. Rogers. She is survived by her children, Joan Smith (Bill, predeceased) of Ballston Spa, NY, Alice Merrill (Frank) of Windsor Locks, CT., William Rogers of Altamont, NY, and Daniel Rogers (Barbara) of Guilderland, NY; her 7 grandchildren (all of whom are her favorite), Stacy Smith Grisinger, Deborah Smith, Christopher Merrill (Fran), Michael and Cristina Rogers, and Daniel and Jaclyn Arline Rogers; her great grandchildren, Margaux Arline and William Grisinger, and Honor and Rex Merrill. She is predeceased by brother Robert Desmond (Jane, deceased)), and survived by brothers George Desmond (June), and Edward Desmond (June, deceased), and many loving nieces and nephews. A calling hour will begin at 9:30 am Saturday at the Bates & Anderson - Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green St., Hudson, NY, 12534. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am Saturday at St. Mary's Church, 429 East Allen St., Hudson, NY, 12534. Interment will be in Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson.
