Carole G. Snyder Born February 10, 1941 β March 10, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved wife, sister, mother and grandmother. Carole G. Snyder passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the age of 75. Born February 10, 1941 to the marital union of LeRoy and Marion Gardner (Moore). She attended Chatham Central School District and furthered her education in nursing where she earned her certification as a R.N. After raising four daughters, she reentered the workforce in a variety of positions where she cared for many patients. In 1984, she began work with the Chatham Central School District in the capacity of Middle School Nurse. She retired after close to two decades and continued her involvement in the community and church. Carole was a woman of simple pleasures, always enjoying the time she spent with family and friends. Specifically, lunch with the β59erβs, playing games with her grandkids and sitting by the ocean in Maine. Always looking to give back to the community, she dedicated numerous hours at the Ghent Food Pantry, was a member of the Ghent-Chatham Senior Citizens club and was a proud parishioner of the Reformed Church. Carole is survived by her husband of 50 years, George A. Snyder Jr. and her four daughters, Melissa Rose (James), Stacy Graziano (Ralph), Rebecca Snyder (Mark) and Amy McLean (Daryn) along with her six grandsons and three granddaughters. In addition, she leaves behind her brother, Donald L. Gardner (Marion), sister-in-law, Sallie Friedman (Robert) and her nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at Bates & Anderson Funeral Home in Hudson, NY on Monday, March 14th, 2016 from 5pm to 7pm. A funeral service will be held at the West Ghent Reformed Church at 10am on Tuesday, March 15th, 2016. Interment will follow at the West Ghent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ghent Food Pantry or Community Hospice of Columbia-Greene.
