Frank "Anchor" Tomaso Cement Worker HUDSON - Frank "Anchor" Tomaso, 88, of Hudson, and most recently the Firemen's Home, died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Home. Born October 16, 1927 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Sebastian and Angela (Broccoli) Tomaso. Mr. Tomaso attended Hudson City Schools and later served in the United States Navy. In 1947, he began a 40 year career at the Universal Atlas Cement Company and later Independent Cement Company. Mr. Tomaso was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, J.W. Edmonds Hose Co. #1 in Hudson, and the Sons of Italy. He was a lifelong resident of Hudson and an avid outdoorsman all his life. On September 24, 1950, he married the love of his life, Elaine Holmes, and raised his family on Eighth Street in Hudson. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elaine Tomaso, two sons, James Tomaso, and his companion Ellen Pietrak, of Greenport, and Anthony Tomaso of Hudson and Manhattan, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 10 siblings. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 am Saturday at St. Mary's Church in Hudson. Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
