Albert “Cookie” Cook, 88, of Hudson went on his “next journey” on Thursday January 31, 2019. Born in Hudson, on February 5, 1930, he was the son of the late, Albert and Ella (Warner) Cook. Cookie served as Union president of the Local #189 at the Atlas Cement Company for several years. He had a lifelong commitment to seeking competitive wages and benefits for those he represented. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Over his lifetime he served as a volunteer with the Salvation Army and Fairview Food Pantry. He cherished spending time on front porch listening to music and visiting with friends & neighbors. He loved to sing, dance, vacation in Maine, and have porch sales. Albert is survived by his children; Beverly Cook, Albert Cook Jr., David Cook (Susan) and Catherine McGlauflin (Tim). Also surviving is his sister Barbara Metz of Hudson. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Joan (Lawton) Cook, and three sisters; Minnie Milligan, Gloria Cook, and Lillian Gardiner. Family and friends will honor his memory privately. A heartfelt thank you to his hospice team, Kelly, Dolche, Vicky, Stan, Diana, Laura, and “Jane” for their compassionate care.
