Anne R. Hoover, 71, passed away July 22, 2018. She was born May 17, 1947 in New York City to Alvin and Joan (Murray) Hoover. Anne served her country proudly in the United States Army. She would go on to earn her Bachelors of Science degree in 1989, an accomplishment that was very gratifying for her. She worked in the Nassau County Clerk’s office before moving to Hudson Valley to be closer to her sister Ellen. Anne then she went to work as a clerk at the Stratton VA medical center in Albany. After retiring she enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Washington Irving Senior Center, where she was a champion WII Bowler. Even though she was not completely Irish she enjoyed Irish bands, and Irish music. She was an avid TV watcher, loved to travel and go on cruises. Above all else she loved to spend time with her nieces and nephews. Anne is survived by her siblings, Robert and his wife Theresa Hoover, Ellen and her husband William Mottoshiski, and Paul Hoover. Also her nieces and nephews; Meghan, Sean, Laura, Mark, Gregory, and Daniel. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Noon from Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. In keeping with Anne’s wishes she will be buried will military honors at Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery following the service. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 AM.
