Ian D. Yeats, 70, of Hudson, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. Born August 17, 1944 in Flushing, New York, he is the son of the late Alexander and Mary (Kozel) Yeats. Ian graduated from Maple Hill High School and the University of Toledo, where he studied History and English Literature. He taught in the Hudson City School District for 29 years. Ian coached JV football, JV basketball, and tennis. He loved to play tennis and golf, loved to travel, and to take long walks up the river. Ian is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathleen (Hoctor) Yeats, his daughters, Megan and Amy O'Conner Yeats, his brother, Alex (Jeanne) Yeats of Vero Beach, Florida, a nephew, Alexi Yeats of Jacksonville, Florida, two brothers-in-law, Timothy (Dale) Hoctor of New Lebanon and Richard Hoctor of Tucson, Arizona, and several cousins. A celebration of Ian's Life will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 pm Saturday at the Bates & Anderson - Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home.
