Lynette McAleer, 93, of Ghent, passed away Sunday September 15, in Philmont, NY. Born April 25, 1926 in Woodmere, NY, she was the daughter of Howard and Lynette (Tompkins) Brower. Lynette was a graduate of Woodmere High School on Long Island. She furthered her education as a graduate of The Academy of Aeronautics LaGuardia Field as a war service mechanic of aircraft engines. Moving from Long Island to Columbia County, she owned and operated the Highway Inn for 16 years. Upon its closing, Lynette moved back to Long Island and worked for her brother’s agency, Brower Real Estate. She then moved back to Columbia County and worked at the Universal Match Corp. until her retirement. Enjoyment during retirement included golfing in Florida and traveling. Left to cherish her memory, are her children, daughter Dee Dee (Carmen) Martino, and son John (Jean) Provenzano, grandchildren, Lyn Bottiglieri, Melodie (Hans) Provenzano Chew, and Christopher (Julie) Provenzano, great grandchildren, John Lee Chew, and Sophia and Rocco Provenzano. Along with her stepchildren, John McAleer, and Jean Ann Klopchin. Lynette was predeceased by her husbands John Battista Provenzano and John McAleer, and brother and sister in law Ray and Bernice Brower. A graveside service at the St. Mary’s Stuyvesant Falls Cemetery will be held Saturday October 12, 2019 at 11:30am, followed by a time of refreshment and fellowship at the Stuyvesant Falls VFW.
