Margaret L. Van Bramer, 90, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2018, at Whittier Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Newton Hook, NY on June 22, 1928. She was the daughter of Paul and Elizabeth (Clouse) Scirico. She worked for many years at Universal Match as a machine operator. After retiring and the passing of her husband Donald, she spent much of her time with the Columbia Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a long time communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Stottville, where she was in the Rosary Society. A member of the Red Hatter’s and also the Columbia County Golden Agers. Her suitcase was always packed and she loved to travel. Margaret is survived by her three sisters; Jennie Richardson, Lucy Miller, and Betty (John) Unson. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great- great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her six siblings, Paul Scirico, James Garafalo, Philip Garafalo, Mary Orbon, Carmella Porreca, and Antionette Hawk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church in Stottville. Interment will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Donations in Margaret's name may be made to the Church of St. Joseph in Stottville, or the Community Hospice of Columbia and Greene Counties.
