Marion Patzwahl, 90, of Greenport, passed away Saturday September 4, 2021. Born July 6, 1931 in Hudson, NY, she is the daughter of Joseph and Laura (Decker) Barto. Marion was a founding member of the Greenport Senior Citizens Club, and enjoyed 30 years serving as Secretary. She was an avid reader and dog lover, and a devoted New York Yankees fan. She always enjoyed a friendly debate with Boston Red Sox fans. Above all, Marion cherished and loved her family. She never missed a school or sporting event that her children or grandchildren participated in. Marion was a Communicant of The Church of St. Joseph in Stottville. She will truly be missed by her many friends and acquaintances. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Scott (Nancy) Patzwahl, Laurie (Robert) Nicholson, and Terry (August) Abatecola, grandchildren, Lucas (Monica) Nicholson, August Abatecola Jr., Bryanna (Daniel) Scali, Ali Abatecola, along with Taylor, Kyle and Hannah Patzwahl. Marion also has four great granddaughters, Sophia and Leah Nicholson and Emma and Charlotte Scali, and a sister Catherine (Nack) Ruby. Marion was predeceased by her husband Donald Patzwahl, grandson Nathan Nicholson, and brother Peter Barto. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday September 8, at 10:00am from the Church of St. Joseph Stottville Parish. Interment will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
