Ronald Jacob Burch, 75, of Livingston, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Jacob Burch and Mary Clapper Burch; born on February 16, 1939. He was also the husband of Florence D. Burch who died September 30, 2013. They were married on April 30, 1996. He worked for many years on the janitorial staff for the Hudson City School District. He was a former fireman with the JW Edwards Hose, a 25 year member of the Knights of Columbus, and a life member of the North American Fishing Club. Ronald loved animals and raised chickens, ducks, and geese and showed them at the Columbia County Fair for many years. He also had several cats and dogs over the years until he went to live in Livingston Hills Nursing Home. Ron is survived by many special friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ANIMALKIND, 721 Warren St., Hudson, NY, 12534 or to the Columbia Greene Humane Society, 125 Humane Society Road, Hudson. There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, July 11, 2014, at Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson.
